Ateba Gautier made an unforgettable entrance into the UFC.

On Saturday night, in Mexico City, Gautier stepped into the octagon for the first time to face Jose Medina in the final preliminary fight at UFC Mexico. His debut couldn`t have gone much better. Known as “The Silent Assassin,” the fighter from Cameroon joined the UFC after impressing in the Contender Series, and he quickly demonstrated why he was so highly anticipated. Gautier powerfully knocked down Medina with a sharp knee, securing a knockout victory in the first round.

Gautier appeared physically dominant against Medina in the octagon, but he remained composed and didn`t rush his attacks. Instead, Gautier patiently found openings to land powerful strikes that troubled Medina early in the fight.

Slightly over three minutes into the first round, Gautier landed a strong hit on Medina, pushing him back towards the fence. Medina then gestured for Gautier to come forward. This proved to be a mistake, as Gautier unleashed a flurry of punches, forcing Medina to defend himself, before delivering a devastating knee straight up the middle. This blow knocked the Bolivian fighter to the ground, resulting in an immediate knockout victory for Gautier.
