World number one Aryna Sabalenka explained why she enjoys bringing humor to her post-match interviews and award ceremonies.
Lately, quite funny things have been happening with you. Your post-match interviews, award ceremonies – they are full of energy, laughter, jokes, you stick your tongue out in Indian Wells, tell your team you hate them…
Well, I really hate them. I`m just telling the truth (smiles).
Tell us about your post-match interviews and award ceremonies – about the best moments, perhaps the less successful ones, and how you manage to make them so cheerful?
Honestly, I don`t know. I just stay myself. I don`t try to pretend to be someone else.
I believe that humor is the best thing there is in life. That`s why I always try to bring a little fun.
That`s just the kind of person I am, and my team is the same way. Everything happens naturally. When I need to give a speech, I never prepare it beforehand – that`s probably noticeable (laughs). I just go with the flow, that`s all.
Can you recall a couple of favorite moments from such situations?
Hmm, I don`t even know which one to choose. Any speech is always fun. I like all of them, regardless of whether I won or lost. I always find a way to have fun and enjoy the moment. Even if I lost a final, I still enjoy myself,
Sabalenka said at the press conference.
