Former PFL heavyweight champion Ante Delija is set to make his highly anticipated UFC debut on September 6th. The Croatian fighter will step into the octagon for the first time at UFC Paris, where he is scheduled to face fellow veteran heavyweight Marcin Tybura.
Delija, who holds a professional record of 25 wins and 6 losses, claimed the PFL heavyweight tournament crown in 2022, a year after finishing as a runner-up in the 2021 season. His impressive run to the championship included notable victories over fighters like Matheus Scheffel, Shelton Graves, and Renan Ferreira. He secured the million-dollar prize by defeating Scheffel in the 2022 final. Following his PFL success, Delija registered a 1-1 record in his final two appearances under the promotion before bouncing back with a first-round knockout win over Yorgan De Castro in Slovenia this past April.
Marcin Tybura (27-9), Delija`s opponent, has been a consistent presence in the UFC`s heavyweight ranks for nearly a decade. The seasoned Polish fighter is currently on positive momentum, having secured back-to-back wins against the previously undefeated Mick Parkin and Jhonata Diniz. Tybura has won three of his last four fights overall, and this upcoming bout in Paris will mark his 23rd appearance inside the UFC octagon, highlighting his extensive experience in the promotion.
The UFC Paris event is highlighted by a key middleweight contenders’ bout featuring France`s own Nassourdine Imavov taking on Caio Borralho.
