Andrei Arlovski is looking ahead, not back, and has no regrets about his time in the UFC.
The former UFC heavyweight champion is set to debut in Dirty Boxing this Saturday in Miami. He will compete in the co-main event of Dirty Boxing 1 against Terrance Hodges. Arlovski, known as “The Pit Bull,” recently finished his second ten-year run in the UFC. When asked about his key takeaways from that period, he emphasized his focus on what lies ahead.
“I am just beginning,” Arlovski told MMA Fighting, clearly stating his forward-looking perspective.
At 46 years old, Arlovski is starting anew in two organizations. He has also signed with the Global Fighting League (GFL) and was drafted by the Los Angeles team.
Before continuing his MMA career, Arlovski is participating in the official launch of Dirty Boxing to the public, following a soft launch last November.
“It’s wild, and I like that,” Arlovski commented, expressing his enthusiasm for Dirty Boxing. He added, “[The first event] had flying punches in boxing, which was entertaining. Plus, Mike ‘Platinum’ Perry’s involvement as a promoter adds a lot. I’m very excited.”
After a four-fight winning streak from April 2021 to April 2022, Arlovski concluded his UFC tenure with four losses, including a split decision against Martin Buday at UFC 303 in June.
Arlovski remains undeterred. In fact, these experiences have motivated the seasoned MMA veteran to continue his fighting journey.
“I’m a happy fighter because I still have passion,” Arlovski said. “I’ve been waiting, and I’m eager to fight. This is something new for me, a fresh start. I’m not concerned about the past. It’s behind me. It was a great past, of course, but I’m focused on the present and future, so I’m very excited.”
“I’m very enthusiastic and thankful for strong management and their guidance, and I appreciate Dirty Boxing for giving me this chance to get active before my fight in GFL.”
