
Today marks the 24th birthday of Russian tennis player Anastasia Potapova. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Anastasia and wish her continued success both on the tennis court and in her personal life.
Born on March 30, 2001, in Saratov, Russia, Anastasia was introduced to tennis at the age of five. Her parents are Sergey and Yulia. Since 2013, she has been honing her skills at the Alexander Ostrovsky Academy.
Potapova`s junior career was highlighted by winning the Junior Wimbledon title in 2016, which propelled her to become the world`s top-ranked junior player. She also reached the finals of the Junior US Open in 2015, and the Junior Roland Garros in both 2016 and 2017.
To date, Anastasia has secured three WTA singles titles. Her victories include the Istanbul tournament in 2022, Linz in 2023, and Cluj-Napoca in 2025. Throughout her career, she has earned over $4.5 million in prize money.
In June 2023, Potapova achieved her career-high ranking of world No. 21. She is currently ranked as the world No. 38.
Anastasia married Alexander Shevchenko in December 2023, but their marriage ended in divorce in November 2024.
