World No. 3 Alexander Zverev discussed his comeback in the quarterfinal of the ATP 500 tournament in Munich. He defeated Tallon Griekspoor from the Netherlands 6-7(6), 7-6(3), 6-4. The German player recovered from a match point when Griekspoor served for the match at 5-4 in the second set.
“I am incredibly happy. Finally, I won a tough match. In recent months, I`ve been losing these kinds of matches, but I always said to myself, `I need to win at least one.` Today, I managed to do it. I`m proud that I persevered, especially in the third set when I was down 0-40 on my serve. I am happy with the victory and really looking forward to the next matches – hopefully two.”
“Tallon and I always play strange matches. In Indian Wells, I served for the match but lost the game, then he served for the match and also lost. You never know what to expect when we play. Our matches are always long and dramatic, and I`m happy that I won today,” Zverev said in an on-court interview.
